Nicholas Sayer

FreeBSD SysAdmin and Enthusiast

Nick Sayer has been a unix user. administrator and programer for most of his adult life and the latter part of his childhood. He made the somewhat unusual transition from owning Apple ][ machines to Suns while attending the University of the Pacific in the late 80s. His experience with FreeBSD began in 1993 with 386BSD's patchkit - which he used to create an X Terminal out of a PC in order to use the Sun down the hall (via XDMCP). In late 1994, he was convinced to actually buy an x86 machine of his own and try FreeBSD 1.1.5.1. He has never looked back. He was a FreeBSD committer from 1999-2006, but never really left FreeBSD behind.
