Phil is a professor at Western Washington University. He has taught there for 36 years. His primary teaching area is systems, including Operating Systems. Phil became associated with NetBSD in 1993 when he ported NetBSD to a "net-build" machine called the pc532. He has been involved with several other aspects of NetBSD including the initial implementation of "sysinst".
