NetManager - Building products with NetBSD round 2

Saturday 11:00 - 11:50

NetManager is an extensible general-purpose server product based on NetBSD with a particular focus on web-filtering and storage. Dating back to 1996 on NetBSD/acorn32, it progressed to NetBSD/cats and then to NetBSD/i386. Now it mainly targets NetBSD/amd64 on both virtual and physical hardware. This talk will discuss how the product evolved and why NetBSD was chosen (instead of FreeBSD or Linux). It will also cover how it is built, upgraded and maintained as well as typical use cases.
