Brett Lymn

Solaris/Linux system administrator by day, NetBSD hacker by night

Brett has been administering various UNIX machines for about 20 years. He stumbled across the open source UNIX movement in the very early 90's when he went looking for a replacement for the commercial PC UNIX he was running at home that had a buggy SL/IP implementation. There was this strange thing called Linux but that didn't have a network stack at the time so he moved on to 386BSD which did have a working network stack. He started fixing things that annoyed him, later when 386BSD fractured he started tracking NetBSD and fixing things there. About 15 years ago he became a NetBSD developer and has worked on aspects of the curses library, verified exec and other kernel bits.
