BSDCan 2007
The Technical BSD Conference

Dan Langille

Dan Langille has a Bacholor of Computer Science and been involved with Open Source since 1998. A software developer with sysadmin skills, he has known to create vast working systems in short amounts of time.

Dan has a long history with FreeBSD, having been given 2.2.6 CDs and a 486 computer back in 1998. He used that to build a firewall for his new broadband connection. From those beginnings, he went on to create several projects:

  • The FreeBSD Diary
  • FreshPorts
  • FreshSource
  • BSDCan
  • PGCon
He has been told he has natural talent for conference organization yet unnatural balance on mountain bikes. He also contributes to Phorum, FreeBSD, and Bacula.
