BSDCan is a Great technical conference for anyone interested in the BSD operating systems.
I recommend it highly, even if you've just installed it and have only been using it a month or two. That's how I started. I didn't let my lack of knowledge stop me from going and I don't regret it.
They're Great people, very friendly.
Any questions just ask, someone will be more than willing to answer your questions.
A bonus Ottawa has many tourist atractions for all interests worth the visit.
