BSDCan 2012
The Technical BSD Conference

Thomas Johnson

Relatively speaking, Thomas Johnson is a newcomer in the FreeBSD community. Prior to a 2010 crash course in BSD at a small (and 100% FreeBSD) Minneapolis-based company, he was a 10-year veteran of the Linux community, and, "more network than systems." He has been a user of OpenVPN for nearly as long as the project has been in existence, preferring its simplicity compared to other VPN technologies. A technology generalist, he doesn't think of himself an expert on anything, so much as "good enough" at many things.

Besides spending his working hours on "these blasted computer things," he occupies his waking hours with free-weights, firearms, frosty beverages, and anything with two wheels, a name ending in -boarding, or a reputation for danger.
