Henning Brauer lives in Hamburg/Germany and works at BS Web Services.

Henning Brauer lives in Hamburg/Germany and works at BS Web Services, a full-service ISP. He's an OpenBSD developer for for many years now, focused on network stuff. In the past he spent a lot of work on the PF packet filter, including the altq merge, thus providing stateful bandwidth management. He also wrote the chroot and privilege revocation extensions for Apache and did the privilege revocation/separation for the dhcp related programs, as well as several other smaller network daemons. He started OpenBGPD in late 2003 and OpenNTPD in mid-2004. Both make heavy use of privilege seperation. Lately, he spent a lot of time and effort on performance tuning in pf and the network stack, including a major redesign of pf internals. When you meet him without a laptop he's likely mountainbiking or enjoying brewer's art. When travelling he also loves to go for a hike.
